Brand New: Currently Totally Devastated

You're going to be able to interact here with people at all stages of getting out. You'll learn that you're not alone. If you haven't learned the truth about the organization both doctrine-wise and cult-mind-control-wise, I suggest you get right on it. Knowledge is power. Google freeminds, jwfacts, watch some youtube vids, google 607 versus 587, and just have a great time learning THE TRUTH.

Perhaps, and I don't even know whether I believe this yet or not, the borg has given up on goals relating to volume of members and is changing its focus to fully indoctrinating die-hards. I honestly wonder if they really care that people leave.
I, too, give a hearty welcome to all newbies. Then again, I might still be considered a newbie to many myself. I've only been here a few months and probably won't hit 1000 posts for another couple weeks.

How's this for Progress?
by cantleave inlast year i gave the memorial talk, this year for the first time in my entire life i won't even be going.. i guess that missing the memorial will definitely put us on the elder's radar, so i am expecting the elders to be concerned an interrogation.

i was going to use the excuse that i will be in a different part of country, but i won't be and i will be at work with at least 3 other jw's in a neighbouring congregation.. .

I'm another first-time skipper, too! Awesome to know I'm not alone. And like cantleave, my wife is by my side, thank God! I know it's going to become a fade-fail pretty quickly because they're going to demand answers, but what is, is. Unless it's for a funeral I'm never going to a Kingdom Hall again.

Turning in time?

You don't know what an ad hominem is. Ad hominem means saying that an argument is invalid because of who makes it. As for productive conversations here, I've already seen what sort of a place this is. I'm not stupid.
LoL. Ad hominem is Latin for "toward the person" or "against the person" and is used to describe a response that attacks the person rather than the person's point, which is what you did. But you're not stupid. Sure.
So it's OK to do it because you thing the Watch Tower does it? That's a bizarre and contradictory argument from someone who rejects Jehovah's Witnesses' teachings as a moral authority.
You are also misrepresenting what The Watchtower has said about Theocratic War strategy.
I didn't say it's ok to do it because the Watch Tower does it. And if I'm wrong about Theocratic War strategy and lying, please correct me. I'm only a lifelong Dub so what do I know about it?
Fading is for people who don't have the courage of their own convictions. Jehovah's Witnesses have endured all sorts of persecution rather than deny who they are and what they believe in. That's real courage and real honesty I would say.
So they're courageous victims of cult mind control. I guess that's something to be proud of.
I'm sorry but I don't know what the "borg" is. You are so brainwashed by boards like this that you can't even use proper terminology. As for "enlightening others to the truth", well I've never seen so many lies in one place as I have on this board.

First of all, what's with the "dubs" thing? Can't you use a respectful term? You would complain enough if Witnesses used a disrespectful term to refer to you. Two sets of weights?
Secondly, how exactly do you know that rank and file Witnesses "fudge" their reports?
First, I AM A DUB myself, so get off the high horse and quit taking offense with a little nickname.
Second, I've been A DUB for a LONG time. I know how folks operate.
